About this event
The Instituto Cervantes in Tangier organises its ‘Pequeños lectores’ programme for children aged 4 to 9. Led by Gabriela Carreño at the Juan Goytisolo Library, it combines storytelling, illustrated books, listening, discussion and complementary activities. The programme encourages reading for pleasure, curiosity, language awareness and a love of stories from an early age. Sessions take place at 99 Avenue Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah. Admission is free for library members, subject to capacity.
**This week's story: How the Platypus Became King of the Animals** — A fable by Elena Ferro, illustrated by Óscar Villán, tells of animals struggling to choose their king. Rivalry among the different species gives way to an unexpected candidate: the platypus. The story introduces young listeners to diversity, dialogue, mutual respect and collective decisions.
